This work was inspired by my inability to dance after a head injury. As I grieved the loss of dance in my life, I started wondering what types of small movements I could do to move the emotions of overwhelming grief and loss in my body. Small bounces on my toes were one movement I found. Bounces turned into jumping as I developed the concept for these able-bodied dancers. The dancer’s movements form a rhythm as they gather, witness, repeat, vocalize, and endure together. Their endurances prove their dedication to one another and their search to find a way out of a closed emotional and physical loop.
